Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District has condemned the extrajudicial killing of 28-year-old Oghenemine Million Ogidi, of Ujevwu community in Udu Local Government Area, calling it a heinous act and urging the police authority to prosecute and hold the “trigger-happy” ASP Usman Nuhu, responsible.
Ogidi was reportedly shot dead on April 26 in Effurun in what the Delta Central Senatorial District representative described as a reckless abuse of power.
“The sanctity of human life is paramount, and it is utterly unacceptable for those entrusted with the protection of citizens to turn their weapons against them,” Dafinone stated in a release issued and signed by him on April 28.

While expressing profound grief, the senator extended condolences to the Ogidi family and Udu community, noting that; “No parent should have to endure the agony of burying a child under such preventable and traumatic circumstances.” He pledged his office’s support to monitor the investigation and ensure accountability.
Dafinone while appealing for calm among Udu residents and the public, called on the Inspector General of Police Tunji Rilwan Disu, and Delta State Commissioner of Police Yemi Oyeniyi, to launch a comprehensive and transparent probe without delay.
He charged all armed security personnel to uphold professional standards and rules of engagement.
