Double Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff (PhD), the newly elected National Treasurer of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) worldwide, has expressed profound gratitude to stakeholders for their support during the April 13, 2026 national elections.
The Ibe-Serimowei of the ancient oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State described his victory as a “collective mandate” that demands heightened responsibility.
In a statement, Mulade thanked outgoing INC President Prof. Benjamin Okaba, the National Executive Council (NEC), the 2026 National Electoral Commission chaired by His Royal Majesty Justice F.F. Tabai (Rtd), national delegates, and the broader Ijaw Nation for their trust.
“I am deeply honoured by this mandate and remain committed to upholding the highest standards of accountability in the discharge of my duties,” Mulade stated.
He pledged to collaborate with the executive council, led by High Chief Macdonald Igbadiwei Esq., and key stakeholders to promote transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management. As a renowned environmentalist and peace advocate, Mulade assured his full commitment to strengthening the INC, fostering unity, and driving the progress and development of the Ijaw Nation.
Mulade envisioned transforming the INC from a conventional socio-cultural body into a productive platform. He highlighted plans to create business opportunities for Ijaw people and the Niger Delta region, including INC farms, a fishing port, and corporate/administrative jobs through engagement with multinational companies in Ijawland.
His election underscores growing expectations for the INC to deliver tangible economic benefits amid ongoing regional challenges.
