…Says No Vacancy In Govt. House Come 2027
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Monday Ubani, has urged elected and appointed officials to practise value-based leadership and remain accountable to citizens, while throwing his weight behind Governor Alex Otti’s re-election bid for 2027.
Ubani made the remarks on Saturday, May 30, 2026, when he received Comrade Otiti Treasure, National President of the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers (GOMEP), at his country home in Umuosoko, Awomukwu, Ikwuano.
Speaking during the visit, the legal practitioner praised Governor Otti’s administration for what he described as visible transformation across Abia State. Ubani said the governor’s development projects and policy initiatives in three years have changed perceptions about the state and restored pride among Abians, adding that the administration has “erased much of the negative image previously associated with the state.”
Declaring that there is “no vacancy” in Abia Government House in 2027, Ubani urged Abians to give Governor Otti overwhelming support at the polls so he can consolidate the gains already recorded. He said the governor has raised the standard of governance in the state and challenged citizens to imagine the progress possible under eight years of sustained leadership.
In response, GOMEP National President Otiti Treasure, commended Monday Ubani for his commitment to human rights, social justice and the development of the legal profession. He said GOMEP is ready to collaborate with the SAN to promote a fair and accountable society where leaders respond to citizens’ needs.
Comrade Treasure Otiti, was accompanied on the visit by GOMEP National Publicity Secretary Tochukwu Eluwa and National Treasurer Charity Uwakwe (Distinguished Chacha).
