The Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) has opened nominations for its 2026 National Awards, inviting Nigerians to recommend individuals whose work has produced lasting impact in their institutions, professions and communities.
The National President of GOMEP-NG, Comr. Akpovoke Otiti, announced the commencement of the exercise in Abuja. He described the awards as one of the Guild’s flagship initiatives for recognising excellence, integrity, innovation and selfless service across national life.
According to Otiti, the 2026 awards will honour outstanding personalities in business, entertainment, leadership, technology, politics, education, public service and community development, among other fields. He said the initiative seeks to celebrate Nigerians whose achievements have inspired positive change and contributed to national development.
“Do you know someone making a remarkable impact in your institution or community? This is the time to give such a person the recognition they deserve,” Otiti said.
He urged organisations, institutions, professional bodies and members of the public to submit nominations for deserving candidates, adding that excellence should not go unnoticed. Individuals with proven records of achievement may also nominate themselves.
Otiti assured that all entries would pass through a transparent screening and verification process before the final selection of recipients.
“The GOMEP-NG National Awards remain a symbol of honour for individuals whose dedication, vision and achievements continue to inspire others and advance the development of Nigeria,” he said.
Enquiries and nominations can be directed to Comr. Success Ochuchemiya via 07055447177 on WhatsApp.
GOMEP-NG has previously used its awards platform to recognise public officials and media stakeholders for contributions to communication, journalism, public service and national development.
