As political activities gather momentum ahead of the forthcoming general election, the Delta State Online Media Coordinator of Tompolo’s PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comr. Akpovoke Otiti, has concluded plans to host media practitioners from the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency in a strategic media parley aimed at boosting grassroots mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Otiti, who is also the National President of the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG), said the initiative forms part of the movement’s communication strategy to deepen public awareness of the APC’s programmes and strengthen support for all the party’s candidates in Delta State.
He explained that the meeting would bring together online publishers, editors, reporters and other media professionals to discuss responsible political reporting, voter enlightenment and the role of digital media in promoting issue-based campaigns throughout the election season.
According to him, the parley will also provide a platform for closer collaboration between the movement and media stakeholders to ensure timely, factual and balanced dissemination of information to the electorate.
Otiti described the media as a critical partner in sustaining democracy, stressing that professional journalism and strategic communication remain essential to promoting peaceful elections and informed public participation.
He reaffirmed the commitment of Tompolo’s PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to expanding grassroots mobilisation across Delta State, expressing confidence that the engagement would further project the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the MORE Agenda in Delta State, and the electoral programmes of all APC candidates.
The date and venue of the media parley, he added, will be communicated to invited participants in due course.
