As Chief Dr. Ighoyota Amori turns 74, Senator Ede Dafinone has praised the Delta State elder statesman for his long service to the state and the Urhobo nation.
In a statement signed by Senator Ede Dafinone to mark Chief Amori birthday, the Delta Central lawmaker described the celebrant as a “distinguished statesman, consummate political strategist, Pan-Urhobo leader and Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State. Dafinone hailed Amori’s “courage, resilience, loyalty and enduring commitment” to the growth and stability of Delta State.
Dafinone noted that since 1999 Amori has been a steady force in the state’s political development, contributing to the evolution and stabilisation of governance across successive administrations. “Your contributions over the years have helped strengthen political structures and promote continuity, stability and effective governance in our dear State,” the senator said.
The statement also highlighted Amori’s role as a Pan-Urhobo leader who, while advancing the interests of the Urhobo nation, has worked for a peaceful and united Delta State. Dafinone said Amori’s continued relevance derives not only from longevity but from his accessibility and responsiveness to the aspirations of the people.
Dafinone prayed for renewed strength, wisdom and sound health for Amori, and wished him many more years of purposeful service to Delta State, the Urhobo Nation and Nigeria.
