Over the years, Comrade Chief Mulade Sheriff, Ph.D., has demonstrated core values that few public leaders possess. His integrity, empathy, courage, inclusiveness, and an unwavering commitment to the common good of all is worthy of emulation. As Warri Federal Constituency prepares for the 2027 general election, his candidacy offers the constituency an opportunity to choose representation rooted in service rather than division.
Chief Mulade Sheriff, Ph.D., no doubts should be supported for the Warri Federal Constituency as he brings a rare combination of grassroots experience, peacebuilding, environmental advocacy, and a practical development agenda to the race for the House of Representatives.Chief Mulade Sheriff addressing supporters during his tour of the Riverine communityies
His record shows a leader who has worked across communities, ethnic groups, and institutions to promote unity, opportunity, and sustainable development. As we all know, Peace is the foundation to development, security, investment, and unity in any society. Chief Mulade has made peace the central theme of his public life, consistently advocating dialogue, justice, and cooperation among the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo people of Warri Federal Constituency.
Chief Mulade is not a newcomer to the challenges facing Warri and the wider Niger Delta. As a renowned peace advocate and United Nations Peace Ambassador, he has spent years promoting peaceful coexistence, conflict resolution, and constructive engagement in communities affected by tension, environmental degradation, and underdevelopment. He has repeatedly stated that peace is more important than personal political ambition. At a time when divisive rhetoric and ethnic tension threaten progress, his message is clear; Warri future depends on unity, mutual respect, and collective action.
His peacebuilding credentials are particularly important for Warri Federal Constituency, a constituency made up of Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West local government areas, with diverse communities and competing interests. A representative who can unite these groups around shared goals will be better positioned to attract investment, federal projects, jobs, and lasting development.
As an environmental rights activist and National Coordinator of the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Chief Mulade, has consistently raised awareness of oil spills, gas flaring, land degradation, and the health consequences of pollution in the Niger Delta.
His advocacy goes beyond protest. He has organised seminars, conferences, summits, and workshops to educate stakeholders on environmental protection, peace, security, and sustainable practices.
For riverine and oil-producing communities, this experience matters. Chief Mulade, understands that environmental justice is not an abstract issue but it affects livelihoods, fishing, farming, health, education, security, and the dignity of the people. He has argued that oil-bearing communities deserve better infrastructure, healthcare, education, jobs, and living conditions in proportion to their contribution to Nigeria’s economy.
Chief Mulade is a unifier. He believes in equal opportunity for all and understands that genuine empowerment must reach youths, women, traders, farmers, students, and vulnerable groups across every community. He has built his public identity around inclusion rather than ethnic sentiment. In his own words, he represents “peace, unity, development and inclusive representation devoid of ethnic sentiment and segregation.”Chief Mulade with school pupils when he presented learning materials to them
This is the kind of leadership Warri Federal Constituency needs. A representative who will see every constituent as part of one shared future. His ability to engage traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, women, and political stakeholders gives him a strong foundation for building the broad consensus required for meaningful development.
It is worthy to note that Chief Mulade’s service did not begin with his ambition to represent Warri Federal Constituency. His leadership journey includes grassroots community development, youth mobilisation, education advocacy, and work within oil-community development structures. He founded the Gbaramatu Youth Council in 2004, creating a platform for youth participation and community development. He served in leadership roles within the Egbema and Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF), an organisation focused on infrastructure and empowerment in Ijaw communities. He facilitated the completion of Kokodiagbene Secondary School with boarding facilities, a major educational intervention in the coastal Niger Delta. He helped initiate Ebiabu Primary School 2 in the Jones Creek Flow Station area in 2017, expanding access to education for communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom. Through CEPEJ, he has promoted environmental protection, human rights, youth empowerment, and conflict resolution across Nigeria and beyond. These achievements show that Chief Mulade is not merely making promises; he has a history of turning concern for people into practical action.
A Practical Development Agenda:
Chief Mulade’s campaign is anchored on a seven-point agenda focused on inclusive representation, technological advancement, economic viability, and employment opportunities. His priorities respond directly to the everyday needs of Warri Federal Constituency viz Reviving the Warri and Koko seaports to unlock commerce, logistics, jobs, and industrial growth. Reviving the Warri Industrial Park and attracting investment that can create employment for young people. Supporting agriculture, fisheries, and skill-acquisition programmes as practical routes to economic empowerment. Expanding opportunities for women, particularly traders and entrepreneurs, through sustainable empowerment programmes. Improving infrastructure, basic amenities, education, and living conditions in riverine communities. Giving Warri Federal Constituency a stronger, more effective voice in the National Assembly.
This agenda is realistic because it connects local needs with federal advocacy. A House of Representatives member must not only speak in Abuja; he must understand the priorities of the people at home and pursue them persistently. Chief Mulade understands that genuine empowerment is more than rhetoric. It means creating access to skills, capital, jobs, education, and opportunities that allow people to improve their lives with dignity. During his campaign engagements in the riverine communities, he distributed learning materials to students and reaffirmed the commitment of his foundation to education and humanitarian causes for more than a decade. His focus on youths and women is especially important. Unemployment, poverty, and lack of opportunity can fuel insecurity; hence Chief Mulade, has argued that industrialisation, job creation, and economic opportunity are essential to addressing these challenges.
Why Warri Should Choose Mulade:
Warri Federal Constituency needs a representative who can bring people together, defend their interests, and translate local aspirations into national action. Chief Mulade Sheriff offers that leadership.
