…As Amori, Oboro, Umukoro Canvass For Votes For All PDP Candidates
Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate for the 2023 Governorship election and Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has decried the poor state of federal roads in Delta State, saying that the only option left for Nigerians was to vote for the PDP for a positive change.
Also, Chief Ighoyota Amori, PDP Senatorial Candidate, Delta Central District; Rt. Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq, PDP House of Representatives Candidate, Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency, and Chief Perkins Umukoro, PDP Delta State House of Assembly Candidate, Sapele Constituency, have promised to attract massive development to Sapele, if voted for in 2023.
The candidates, who made the assertions during the Delta State PDP ward-to-ward campaigns to Sapele Local Government Area wards 8, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2, said they were in the wards to solicit for votes and on a need assessment of the area.
Speaking during the campaign visit to the six wards, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori, who is also the National Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, said the poverty rate in the country between 2015 and 2022 had risen to unbearable percentage.
He explained that “the APC Muslim/Muslim ticket is not desirable. such a ticket cannot fly in a diverse society like Nigeria. Few weeks ago, the external debt of Nigeria stands at $40 billion and nothing to show for it. All these monies were approved by the toothless National Assembly of which Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is the Deputy Senate President”.
“The federal roads which include Warri-Benin, Effurun-Abraka-Agbor, Ughelli-Asaba and Effurun-Ughelli -Patani are all bad. If not for the intervention of the Okowa led government, the roads would have been impassable,” he added.
He pointed out that the only party that had the solution to the problems currently bedeviling the country was the PDP, addiy that “what you have been enjoying in Sapele were done by the PDP.”
He urged the Uvwie people to vote Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Delta Central District, saying he had worked tirelessly through the DC-23 to ensure that the governorship seat came to Delta Central District; vote Rt. Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq, for House of Representatives, Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency because she is eloquent, vibrant, and experienced; Hon. Perkins Umukoro for Delta State House of Assembly, Sapele Constituency to enable him use his wealth of experience to develop Sapele.
The Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate also appealed to the people to vote for him and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme as their M.O.R.E. Agenda would bring meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security.
On their part, the PDP Delta Central Senatorial Candidate, Chief Ighoyota Amori, noted that Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie and Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituencies had both represented Urhobo at different times in the Senate, “so I urge all of you to vote for me for the Senate, come 2023.”
Rt. Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq, PDP House of Representatives Candidate, Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency, said Nigeria was a better Country when PDP was in power.
“Prices of foodstuffs and other products were affordable; fuel price was less than N100; a Dollar was less than N200; the economy was booming and rated one of the best in Africa.
“But today, APC has destroyed Nigeria in less than eight years as the Federal Government with failed economic policies. Fuel is now about N250 per litre; a bag of local rice is now N55,000; a dollar is now over N800 in the black market.
“Insecurity is currently bedeviling the country as we can no longer sleep with our eyes closed, nor travel by the roads. People are being killed with impunity,” she stated.
She appealed to the people on the need to vote for her for House of Representatives, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as President and Vice-President respectively, and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Sir Monday Onyeme as Governor and Deputy Governor respectively; Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Delta Central District, and Chief Perkins Umukoro for Delta State House of Assembly, Sapele Constituency.
Hon. Perkins Umukoro, PDP House of Assembly Candidate, Sapele Constituency in his speech at the various wards, also appealed to the people to vote for him, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for President and Vice-President respectively Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori and Sir. Monday Onyeme for Governor and Deputy Governor respectively; Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Delta Central District, and Rt. Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq.
Chairmen of the various wards visited promised to work for the victory of all PDP candidates in the 2023 general elections just as leaders in the visited wards spoke in same vein.
