Frontline political candidate Chief Sheriff Mulade, Ph.D., has issued a scathing warning to political opponents to immediately cease spreading false news and misinformation claiming he has withdrawn from the 2027 House of Representatives election for Warri Federal Constituency.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) aspirant, widely regarded as one of the most acceptable candidates for the constituency, made the clarion call in a statement released Tuesday by his Media and Campaign Director, Comrade Friday Ugedi.
Mulade’s statement came in response to a misleading publication circulating on social media and internet platforms falsely claiming that Mulade had withdrawn from the 2027 contest.
“Our attention has been drawn to a misleading, false and mischievous publication stating that Chief Sheriff Mulade, Ph.D., has withdrawn from the 2027 contest,” the statement read. “Such publication being circulated on the internet is false, fabricated and a calculated attempt to confuse teeming constituents who have vowed to vote for a refined, knowledgeable, vibrant and honest man.”
He maintained that having won the NDC primary election overwhelmingly, his focus is now on utilizing the mandate given to him by constituents who reposed confidence in him to represent Warri Federal Constituency.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I want to inform all my supporters and constituents that I, Chief Sheriff Mulade, Ph.D., never stepped down for any other candidate or withdrawn from the contest,” Mulade declared. “Such information is fake, lies and never came from me.”
The environmental activists warned opponents bent on misinforming the public about his supposed defeat or withdrawal from the race, calling on supporters to disregard the false publications entirely.
“I am in the race. I am very much ready and by the grace of God, we will win the elections without stress as our records count,” Mulade affirmed.
He expressed unwavering confidence in his campaign, citing his track record as one of the deciding factor that will secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
The statement comes amid heightened political activity in Delta State as various aspirants position themselves for the upcoming federal elections, with misinformation campaigns becoming increasingly common among frustrated competitors.
