Comrade Sheriff Mulade, PhD, has emerged winner of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary for Warri Federal Constituency, declaring his victory a mandate from the people and dedicating it to God.
Mulade, an environmental rights activist and peace advocate, thanked delegates, supporters and constituents in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday. He described the result of Friday’s primary in Delta State as evidence of the electorate’s confidence, trust and acceptance.
Humbled by the outcome, Mulade pledged to deliver “people-oriented, responsive representation” if elected at the general poll. He said the victory belongs to every resident of the constituency who supports good governance, unity and sustainable development.
“I deeply appreciate all those who participated in the electoral process, especially the delegates, supporters, and well-wishers who stood firmly behind my aspiration,” Mulade said.
“This mandate is a call to greater responsibility, and I assure you that I will not let you down.”
Mulade urged unity and peaceful coexistence among Warri Federal Constituency’s three major ethnic groups—the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo—saying collaboration and inclusiveness are essential for the area’s future. He said the primary result signals a desire for inclusive leadership and grassroots-driven representation focused on local developmental needs.
As the NDC moves toward the general election, Mulade called on party members to remain united and focused, stressing that sustained victory will require solidarity, commitment and a shared vision for the constituency’s progress.
