The Delta State Police Command has launched intelligence-driven operations in Warri, Ughelli, and Sapele, leading to the arrest of suspected armed robbers and cultists.
The operations also led to the recovery of three firearms and 27 live cartridges.
In Ughelli, the CP-Special Assignment Team led by ASP Julius Robinson, on February 27, arrested Oghenemaro Festus in Ekredjebor, Ughelli and a search on him yielded a pump-action gun with two live cartridges. The suspect is said to be among those linked to local house robberies, with gang members still at large.

The CP-SAT, on March 1, 2026, also nabbed one Prince Omanure, also known as Anini (21), in the Ghana Area of Sapele, following resident complaints. He led police operatives to a hideout along Warri-Sapele Road where a fabricated Beretta pistol with eight rounds was recovered. The manhunt for his gang members continues.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Quick Response Squad under SP Achem Collins, had on February 24, at about 9:14 pm raided a cult gathering at Okwagbe Street, Igbudu, Warri.
Three Black Axe members—Nelson Mudiagha (aka Diara), Efe Nyore, and Ebube Ifeanyi were arrested and a cut-to-size double-barrel gun and 17 cartridges were recovered.

According to the Police image maker for the Command, SP. Bright Edafe, the State Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola, has vowed unwavering action against cultists and robbers to protect residents.
