Human Rights Advocate and Development Expert, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, PhD, has commended the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for spearheading what he calls an “infrastructural revolution” in the state’s urban centers.
Mulade hailed the governor’s ongoing projects as transformative for upland communities.
“These strides are bringing real change to city centers,” he said. However, Mulade called on the state’s 25 local government area (LGA) chairmen to step up and replicate these efforts at the grassroots level. He noted that many Deltans only experience government development when traveling to major cities, leaving rural areas underserved.
Prioritizing riverine communities, Mulade urged the governor to fast-track key projects like the long-awaited Ayakoromo bridge alongside with the state’s ongoing flyovers and the economically vital Burutu Forcados-Ogulagha Road.
Mulade argued that such initiatives could significantly boost the state’s internal revenue.
Speaking on local government, Mulade challenged the 25 LGA to launch bold, economy-driven legacy projects.
“Council chairmen must be courageous and use their ample resources for people-oriented developments that complement the governor’s efforts and etch their names in gold.
“No more hiding behind state projects.”
His remarks underscore growing calls for balanced development across Delta State, ensuring no community is left behind.
