Speaking to newsmen at the Nest of Champions Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State at the official flag-off of the 2022/23 Presidential Campaigns of  the PDP, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori said that Nigerians cannot afford to return the APC back to power again, hence the PDP was coming on a rescue mission to salvage the bad situation the ruling APC has plunged the country into since 2015.

While stressing g the significance of the day’s celebration,  the APC Delta South Senatorial District candidate said there was no gainsaying the fact that the girl child remains an integral part of societal growth and development as the girl child of today will eventually become a great mother tomorrow. 

“As claimed by the said Joseph Obi that they had written severally to the Government of Delta State through the Ministry of Lands, I have as well been going to defend the land, in fact with the family that sold it to me. The Ministry of Land has said times without number that I never built on the road nor blocked the waterways.

His action according to the statement, drew suspicion and the operatives went after him, and the suspect on noticing that the Policemen were closing up on him, abandoned the said bag and escaped into a nearby river. But upon searching the bag, one locally made cut-to-size double barrel gun and one locally made short gun were recovered. Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspect.

“We are here to disclaimed the recent newspaper publications and an Online video which has gone viral. We are not part of such group and they are not known to us as members of the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators and we are not connected to any of such publications.

According to the group, they are loyal and committed to the PDP and victory of all its candidates in the forthcoming elections, saying that; “We have placed highest stakes and premium on the victory of Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, the governorship candidate of the party in Delta State and directed our teeming members to spare no efforts to ensure he wins his elections.”

The statement further read; “For the purpose of clarity, the Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Ari Muhammed Ali, has declared that there is no “sit at home order” in Delta State.  He assured residents of their safety and urges them to go about their lawful businesses as the Command is willing and able to deal decisively with anyone or group of persons who try to cause any form of trouble in the State.

Okakuro Ede Dafinone, who was accompanied by his Campaign Director, Chief Barr. Adelabu Bodjor and some of his supporters were received by family members, APC supporters, and friends of the Ewherido, urged them to remain steadfast in the task of rebuilding Delta, a dream the late Ewherido stood for.

The elated Omu Dunkwu appreciated Mma Sunshine for the honour, while encouraging women never to deter nor give up because of oppositions and obstacles in their way

According to Ifeajika, the letter from Akume to the Governor stated that “ I have the honour to formally inform you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the conferment of the National Honour on you, in the rank of CON (Commander of the Order of the Niger)’’.
