The Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) has applauded Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for supplying 50 buses to strengthen public transport across the state, calling the move a clear example of people-centred governance.
In a letter dated July 6, 2026, and signed by National President Comrade Akpovoke Otiti, GOMEP-NG said the intervention demonstrates the governor’s commitment to improving living conditions for Deltans and turning the promises of his MORE Agenda into concrete benefits.
The guild described the bus provision as more than a transport upgrade, framing it instead as a strategic investment in economic mobility that will increase access to jobs and services, lower transportation costs, and improve daily life for thousands of residents.
“This thoughtful intervention is another clear demonstration of your unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life of Deltans and translating the promises of your MORE Agenda into tangible benefits for the people,” the letter read.
GOMEP-NG also highlighted the growing role of digital media in shaping public discourse, noting that online newspapers, streaming platforms, podcasts, blogs and other digital outlets now serve millions of Nigerians in real time.
The guild pledged ongoing support for responsible journalism, factual reporting and the promotion of development initiatives across the state.
