The Delta State Police Command on Monday welcomed 20 participants and senior staff from the Defence Intelligence College, Karu‑Abuja, who are on a Nigeria Study Tour as part of the Advanced Defence Intelligence Officers Course (ADIOC 16/2026).
Confirming the visit, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP. Bright Edafe, disclosed that the delegation, led by the College Commandant, Commodore U.N. Bugaje, was received at the command headquarters by Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, and members of the command’s management team.
Speaking on the course theme, “Strengthening National Resilience Through Integrated, Multi‑Agency Coordination and Regional Security Cooperation,” CP Oyeniyi emphasized that modern security threats make timely intelligence sharing and close coordination between security agencies essential. He cited recent operations by the Delta command as practical examples of how intelligence‑led policing and inter‑agency collaboration have helped reduce crime across the state.
Participants engaged the CP and senior officers with questions on policing tactics, intelligence gathering, crime prevention and security operations, all of which were addressed during the session. The visit concluded with the Delta command reaffirming its commitment to continued cooperation with other security and intelligence agencies to protect lives and property.
The interaction forms part of the Defence Intelligence College’s effort to expose senior intelligence officers to on‑the‑ground security practices and regional policing challenges.
