Renowned Delta State environmental and peace advocate Comrade Mulade Sheriff, PhD, has formally picked the Expression of Interest/ Nomination form of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to contest the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mulade, widely known for his Niger Delta environmental rights work and development advocacy, said he is confident of victory in the February 2027 polls to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He dedicated his candidacy to God and to the people, saying the opportunity fills him with gratitude.
Addressing supporters after collecting the form, the Ibe-Sorimowei of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom thanked the NDC’s national leadership and former Bayelsa Governor Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for the chance to serve. Mulade said he seeks to represent the three major ethnic groups in the constituency Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo on a platform of unity and inclusion.
“I am the right man for the job at the moment,” he said, adding that his campaign will emphasize peace, development and inclusive representation free from ethnic bias.
Mulade vowed to work with traditional rulers, stakeholders and political leaders to foster sustainable peace and attract development to Warri city and its environs, which he described as a commercial nerve centre for Delta State and Nigeria. He said his approach will rely on advocacy, constructive engagement and dialogue to drive progress.
