Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, the African Democratic Party (ADC) vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, has urged Deltans to support the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and its Delta State Governorship Candidate, Olorogun Great Ogboru.
Amaechi made the appeal during a town hall meeting held at the Kratos Ballroom Event Hall at Refinery Road, Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
The former minister of transport who lamented the sufferings of Nigerians, described the policies of the present administration as torturing but promised that if the ADC come into power, the price of fuel will be reduced and make the economy to work again. He added that the ADC ticket represented hope for Nigerians, particularly Deltans, amid the challenges confronting the country since May 29, 2023 when the present administration of President Tinubu came into power.
Amaechi while assuring the party readiness to deliver the party flag bearer in Delta state, Chief Great Ogboru, urged party faithful to ensure that the party’s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is voted massively so that the mandate of Chief Great Ogboru will not be stolen again.
“You are the reason why Ogboru have not been sworn as Governor. If you vote President Atiku Abubakar, Chief Great Ogboru, will definitely be sworn in”.
He described their partnership with Chief Ogboru as necessary for him to reclaim what he referred to as “stolen mandates” and to provide effective leadership for the people of Delta State.
Amaechi said Ogboru needed Atiku’s support at the federal level to reclaim all stolen mandates and reposition Delta State for development.
Earlier, the Delta State chairman of the ADC, Hon. George Timinimi, welcomed Amaechi and his entourage to the state, assuring them of the chapter’s total support ahead of the 2027 elections.
Timinimi disclosed that the party had embarked on extensive consultations across the state and developed an aggressive, issue-based campaign strategy aimed at taking the ADC message to every electoral unit in Delta State.
He said the party would mobilise its members and supporters from the grassroots to ensure victory for its candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
