Ahead of the ground breaking ceremony of the Otovwodo flyover by the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on January 12, 2026, the Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Barr. Jaro Egbo, has declared Saturday, January 10, 2026, between 7:00 am to 11:00 am a Special Environmental Sanitation Exercise.
This clean up exercise according to a release made available to Journalists, is halting all commercial activities in order to maximize participation. The release stated that everyone including business owners and market traders as well as community leaders in Ughelli town and those resident along the Otovwodo East/West Road are encourage to join in sweeping, clearing refuse, and hauling away debris.
“This exercise is to polish the area sparkling clean for the Flyover Groundbreaking Ceremony slated for Monday, January 12, 2026, the statement noted.
It further disclosed that Environmental and security teams will be on ground to monitor, enforce compliance and ensure smooth operation, adding that a cleaner Ughelli North is a Watchword.
