The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, has passed a vote of no confidence on the party Chairman, Mr. Obakpororo Onoabedje, his Secretary, Barr. Beauty Ubogun-Nze, the Organizing Secretary, Mr. Henry Ophori, and subsequently suspended and replaced them with Mr. Samuel Evwighono as Acting Chairman, Ms. Juliet Oduma, Acting Secretary and Mr. Daniel Osiebe, as the Organizing Secretary.Newly Appointed Acting Chairman, Mr. Samuel Evwighono reading party resolutions during the briefing
At a well attended press briefing in Ughelli on Monday, October 6, 2025, where the party resolution of an emergency meeting held at the party Secretariat on Saturday, October 4, 2025, and signed by 25 leaders across the wards was read, the party announced their suspension from the party and subsequent replacement in accordance with the party constitution.

Party members and leaders drawn from across all the wards in the local government area during the emergency meeting of October 4, 2025, where a resolution was taken, accused Mr. Obakpororo Onoabedje, the Chairman, Barr. Beauty Ubogun-Nze, the Secretary, and Mr. Henry Ophori, the Organizing Secretary, of frustrating the party and deliberately denying every attempt to hold or call for meetings since June, 2023, as against the party constitution. An action they described as deliberate efforts to weaken the party in the local government.APC members during the briefing
They accused the three top executive members of engaging in anti-party activities, organizing rallies were the state leader of the party and Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, was allegedly abused, mocked and condemned with the aim of demarketing the party, as well as openly romancing, funding and holding meetings with the opposition party, the All Democratic Congress (ADC). The sacked executives were also labelled as causing division amongst party members and refusing to recognized new decampees that came with the state governor to the party, an action they also described as affront and gross disobedience to the the directives and instructions of the party National Leader and President of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The suspended chairman, his secretary and organizing secretary’s conduct was also described as sabotage to the party’s agenda and their suspension was unanimously adopted.
