…Expresses Regret Over Misleading Allegations
The Union of Tippers and Quarry Employers of Nigeria (UTQEN), Ughelli North Chapter, has publicly retracted recent reports alleging extortion and corruption against the Ughelli North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Jaro Egbo.

The union described the earlier publication that went viral as “false, misleading, and not representing the truth.”
In a signed statement issued by Comrade Ubini Peace, Chairman and Comrade Patrick Onoberhie, Public Relations Officer, the group clarified that all payments made to the Council were statutory fees and legitimate remittances from ticket sales, and were duly paid into government coffers. They denied any form of illegal or corrupt financial dealings involving the Local Government Chairman or any of his officials.
According to the statement, the Union emphasized that the allegations were baseless and a product of misinformation and mischief by certain Online medium.
“For the avoidance of doubt, our Union wishes to state in clear and unambiguous terms that the said allegations are a figment of the reporters’ imagination and should be disregarded in their entirety”.
The Union further admitted that, upon internal review, it discovered that the information circulating online was inaccurate and did not originate from any authorized communication of the organization. “We didn’t intend to cause any harm or damage to our LGA Chairman’s reputation,” they added, expressing deep regret for the unintended embarrassment the situation may have caused.
Reaffirming their unwavering support, the Union declared its loyalty to the leadership of Hon. Jaro Egbo, describing him as a visionary administrator and a man of integrity. “Our loyalty to the Hon. Jaro Egbo-led administration remains unquantifiable and unbroken. We shall continue to support his administration as one of our own,” they stated.
The Union also tendered a heartfelt apology to the Ughelli North Local Government Chairman, the people of Ughelli North, and the general public for any distress or inconvenience the false report might have caused. They reiterated their commitment to transparency, peace, and collaboration with the government for the development of the local government area.

The duo assured that the Union would take measures to prevent such misinformation in the future and continue fostering unity and accountability within its ranks.
