Second out of eight boys, he was gritty and demonstrated signs of leadership and religiosity quite early in life. He was also remarkably brilliant, humble, disciplined, but humane. After an itinerant primary education due to his father’s frequent transfers, he attended the Holy Martyrs of Uganda Minor Seminary at Effurun from 1973 to 1978 before proceeding to the Ss. Peter and Paul Major Seminary in Ibadan in 1978.

Catholic Church Ordains First Ever Blind Priest

It was an  as extraordinary ordination of the first blind priest, Rev Deacon Michael Mithamo King’ori of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri to the priesthood as Radio Maria Kenya announced on Social Media.

On a visit to the Church with innocent blood still spattered on the floor and walls of the sanctuary I could almost hear the victims as they were attacked right inside the Church, cry out like Jesus Christ did on the cross “Eloi Eloi lama sabachtani: My God, My God why have you forsaken me”?  May that desecration of the sanctuary, the desecration of the body of Christ and the desecration of our collective claim as Nigerians to sane humanity shall not go unpunished. “Eloi, Eloi lama Sabachtani”
