Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, the Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to NNPCL/JV Partners, has officially responded to growing calls for him to contest the Delta South Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released to address the “overwhelming show of confidence” from the Itsekiri Youths for Good Governance and various support groups, Prince Edema expressed deep gratitude but emphasized that his current priorities lie elsewhere.
While describing the call to serve at a higher level as “humbling,” Edema made it clear that he will not be distracted from his current role. He noted that his primary focus remains on the responsibility entrusted to him by His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri.
“This is not just a position—it is a duty to our people, to our future, and to the trust you have placed in me.
“I am fully committed to delivering on this assignment with integrity, hard work, and visible results.”
Though Edema has not yet made a decision regarding his own candidacy for the Senate, he outlined a clear political roadmap for his supporters, but assuring full mobilization for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, his resolute support for the return of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, but a call for new leadership in the Warri Federal Constituency, expressing dissatisfaction with the current representation which he claimed has “not yielded anything tangible.”
Edema assured his followers that his team is “consulting widely” and evaluating all options. He maintained that the call to contest has only strengthened his resolve to serve the community, whether in his current capacity or a future one.
”When the time is right, and when a clear decision is reached, you the people will hear from me directly,” he concluded.
