… New PG, Promises Peace, Development, Stability
The Okpavuerhe Community in Olomu Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State, has elected 16 man new executives to pilot the affairs of the community.
The election which held in May 22, 2025, had the following persons emerging as executives;
1. Mr. Monday Ukpokpo- President General
2. Mr. Ekere Champion Happy- Vice President
3. Mr. Amos Omokeni- Secretary General
4. Mr. John Akporherhe- Treasurer
5. Mr. Volvo Echabor- PRO
6. MR. Oke Omote- Org. Secretary
7. Mr. Martins Oyovwadia- Assist. Secretary
8. Mr. Peter Omokeni- Financial Secretary
9. Mr. Umude Samson- Publicity Secretary
10. Blessing Izini- Youth Chairman
11. Mr. Paul Enakarhire- Opinion Leader
12. Mrs. Christiana Arigi- Woman Leader
13.Chief Ubighoro E. – Community Ticktak
14. Barr. Aghogho Amusi- Legal Adviser
15. Mr. Lucky Omokeni- Ex-Officio
16. Chief Scott I. Oduduba- Ex-Officio.

All newly elected excos were duly sworn in by the eldest man in the community, (Okpako Orere) Pa. Jackson Oberiko and ably supported by Pa. Samuel Eruobaghwor for Omata quarters, Pa. Lagos Aki, of Ikrekor quarters, Pa. Eruvwenure Lender, Emaje quarters, Pa. Izini Thomas of Utare quarters. Others are Mr. Lawrence Etadievu, the Otota (Spokesperson) of the community and Mrs. Etarigho Agnes, the Okpako rę’ Ghweya (Eldest woman).
The newly elected executives were cautioned to be guided and abide by the community constitution which they accused and alleged the former President General, Mr. Godday Ichipi and his Secretary, Mr. Christian Imetevwodo, of violating grossly.
Pa. Jackson Oberiko further admonished the newly elected President General, Mr. Monday Ukpokpo to ensure he pilots the affairs of Okpavuerhe community peacefully without victimization, intimidation and abuse of power. He urged him to work in harmony with all the elected executive and strive for the growth and development of the Okpavuerhe community and her people.
On his part, Mr. Ukpokpo, promised to serve the community with honest and transparency. He called on indigenes of the community to support his administration and charged his fellow exco members to also serve with honesty and avoid any actions that will rubbish the administration.
Meanwhile, the out going President General, Mr. Godday Ichipi, who allegedly refused to handover community documents after the expiration of his tenure has been allegedly arrested by the police. He was said to have come to the community with a gun to cause mayhem on the indigene and residents but was allegedly overpowered before his arrests.
They advised those concerned including governments and contractors to henceforth transact businesses with only the newly elected executives.
