The Ovie of Ogor Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, HRM, Okiemute Onajite Igere I, JP, has conferred traditional chieftaincy titles on 31 prominent Udu sons, daughters and their wives in honour and recognition of their contributions to the Kingdom.
The monarch, while conferring the titles in his palace in Otor-Ogor, Delta State, weekend, disclosed that the gestures stemmed from the need to show appreciation to the recipients who have contributed immensely towards the development of the kingdom and being his maternal relations.
He admonished them to represent the kingdom and the society in good light as they are now men and women of good repute, and ambassadors to the kingdom.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, former Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Chief Bite Brown who was conferred with the title of Okęrę of Ogor Kingdom thanked the monarch.
He noted that the Chieftaincy conferment was a very significant one as the monarch is their own brother and son of Udu Kingdom as his mother hails from Udu.
He expressed gratitude to the monarch, promising that the honour done on them for their contributions and support to the kingdom and society, will further spur them to do more.
He also appreciated all sons and daughters of Udu Kingdom for their supports and recognition given to them.
Those conferred include Chief Bite Brown, Okęre of Ogor Kingdom, Chief Mrs. Shirley Brown, the Ododo R’Ovie of Ogor Kingdom, Chief Matthew Uparan, the Omorovie of Ogor, Chief Oghenero Akpovwa, the Ariakpokefe of Ogor kingdom, Chief faith Oghenero, the Omamuyovwi of Ogor Kingdom and others.
