Top national youth service corps (nysc) presidential honours award recipients from the 2020–2023 batches have rejected a sahara reporters story claiming the federal government reneged on automatic employment pledges.
In a statement released in Abuja on saturday, the awardees clarified that the March 5 report does not represent their unified stance. they revealed ongoing talks with Federal Civil Service officials to implement the employment directive approved by president bola ahmed tinubu.
The statement further revealed that their follow-ups indicate the process is advancing steadily. the group stressed that no individual or faction speaks for them in the media, dismissing those quoted in the report as unrepresentative.
“These are malicious individuals trying to undermine our collective efforts as a group and damage the image of president tinubu,” the statement declared. While noting that government bureaucracy can slow things down, the awardees praised officials’ cooperation and voiced optimism about receiving appointment letters soon. they thanked the Federal Government and President Tinubu for honoring their national service and the linked opportunities. They however appealed to media outlets to always verify facts with authorized voices before reporting on issues.
