Popular Nigerian Gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey, has said he never lost faith in God despite the many trials he went through with his wife, Sarah.
Bassey recounted how his wife, Sarah, went through five miscarriages while he continued to lead praise sessions during the popular Hallelujah Challenge.
The singer in the wee hours of Friday, this weekend, during the ongoing Hallelujah Challenge, shared the emotional testimony. Speaking during the live session, Bassey said, “My wife will have to forgive me. Do you know that there were times during the Hallelujah Challenge when we had a miscarriage, and nobody knew? I would still come online to praise and dance before God. Some years ago, she was even on a hospital bed because of an ectopic pregnancy. I would leave the hospital to lead worship, and when I returned, the nurses who attended to her would say, ‘Tonight’s session was powerful.’ It happened not once, not twice, not three times, not four times, but five.”
Reflecting on those painful experiences, he said he never lost faith in God despite the trials. “So when people ask me, ‘Where is God?’ I tell them I understand. God is faithful. One of the words He gave us is, ‘Don’t give up on God.’”
Bassey also shared a lighter moment during his testimony. He said, “Someone sent me a testimony yesterday. He went to a Chinese restaurant to eat. You know those fortune cookies with little notes inside? That’s where he got his message. God works in mysterious ways.”
