Two years down the line, the Member Representing Ndokwa East in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Prince Emeka Osamuta, on Friday, June 4, 2025, briefed constituents on the journey so far, highlighting achievements made in the three core mandates of a Legislator.
In what could be termed “State of the Constituency Address”, the mid-term briefing afforded Hon Osamuta another opportunity to keep the people abreast with developments in the constituency, including progress made, challenges, concerns and prospects for the future.
According to the youthful Lawmaker, the core mandate of any legislator at all levels, is representation, law making and oversight, saying that all the areas never fell short of the expectations as dedication, perseverance and commitment, together with support from critical stakeholders have kept the flag flying.
Hon Osamuta said, he is proud to report achievements made in projects executions in the constituency, including education and road infrastructure, employment programmes, job creation and carrier opportunities, even as he pledged renewed commitment to attracting more dividends of democracy to the constituency.
He listed Constructions of Administrative Building at Ossissa Commercial Secondary School, Ossissa, blocks of Classrooms and Toilets at Oduga Secondary School, Ushie, Renovation of block of Classrooms and Toilets at Ibrede Grammar School, Ibrede, Construction of NYSC Lodge at Akaria-Obodo, Reconstruction of a Block of new UBE Classrooms in Mixed Secondary School Oboma, Utchi, the ongoing Construction of a Block of 3 Classrooms with Offices and 4 Toilets at Community Secondary School, Akarai-Obodo, the Proposed Total Rehabilitation of a Block of 4 Classrooms at Obetim Secondary School, Obetim Uno, amongst others as some achievements made in the education sector.
Osamuta stated that also worthy of mention were distribution of 275 Pupils Chairs and 25 Teachers Chairs and Table in some selected schools in the constituency, registration of indigent students of Ndokwa East for Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination as it is his policy that no child should be denied a bright future simply because they can’t afford an exam form, and submission of a list of 20 more schools for construction and rehabilitation.
On road infrastructure, the Lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Warri-Uvwie and Environs Development Agecy, named construction of Okeye and Chief Iyke Oputa Streets in Aboh and most recently securing Delta State government approval for a landmark 10.8km Aboh-Akarai concrete road and a 100m bridge across Okiri River. as development that would promote standards and growth in the constituency.
Paying glowing tributes to those who have made it possible for him to thrive, Osamuta explained that the 10.8km Aboh-Akarai concrete road and a 100m bridge across Okiri River project is indeed a lifeline for our riverine communities.
He said “We are not done yet as I will continue to redouble my efforts to ensure that roads and essential infrastructure are provided and rehabilitated to connect our communities and make it easier to carry out our economic activities.
“I have also made major strides in the area of empowerment and influencing projects in the 2025 state budget. I am collaborating with the relevant agencies to push for climate-resilient infrastructure and flood mitigation measures. I am very much aware of all other challenges and we will continue to tackle them head-on.
“Let me at this point express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, for his unwavering support and listening ear. I thank the Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme and the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor for the organic love towards me.
“To great people of Ndokwa East, I thank you all my traditional rulers, elders, youths, women, and every hardworking citizen who made it possible for me to stand here today. Your support, prayers, constructive feedback have kept me grounded and focused.
“This is only the beginning. The journey of two years has not been without obstacles, but together, we have turned most of these challenges into opportunities. I am more determined than ever to make more impact and serve with humility, transparency and accountability.
“But I cannot do it alone. I need your voices, your ideas, and your vigilance. Our young people and our women are one of the strengths of this constituency. I remain committed to creating more opportunities that give them a seat at the table, not just as beneficiaries, but as partners in progress.
“Most of all, I thank the Almighty God for His mercies, grace, and guidance through this journey. Let us keep working together in unity because the future we dream of is already within our reach”, Osamuta stated.
The Special quest and Deputy Governor of the State, Sir Monday Oyeme, reassured the people of Ndokwa East, that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was committed to awards and develop more projects for social economic growth in the area.
Oyeme described the two years of stewardship of Hon Emeka Osamuta, as a briefing packed with positive narratives and admonished the people to sustain their support and encouragement to both the state and federal government.
Others who spoke extolled the virtues of Hon Osamuta and his commitment at ensuring that the voice of Ndokwa East people were not only heard at the Hallowed Chamber of the Delta State Legislature, but the dividends of democracy were attracted to the constituency.
The occasion was graced by numerous government functionaries, political juggernauts, community leaders and groups, including the member representing, Ndokwa -Ukwani federal constituency in the National Assembly, Rt Hon Nnamdi Ezechi, Chief Godwin Obeilum, former Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Oliseh Imegwu, APC chieftain, Chief Chris Opute, and other APC leader in Ndokwa East.
Highpoint of the event was the passing of a vote of confidence in President Bola Amed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Hon Nnamdi Ezechi and Hon Emeka Osamuta and their re-elections.
The vote of confidence, was moved by the former Speaker, Rt Hon Oliseh Imegwu and unanimously adopted.
