The Delta State Police Command through its CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) has neutralized three suspected kidnappers, arrest others including suspected cultists and recovers guns and ammunition.

In a press release signed by the Command Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe on Friday, May 30, 2025, the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) recorded in two coordinated operations where suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, and cultists where arrested.
SP Edafe while stressing the Commands unwavering dedication to upholding public safety and order noted that on May 27, 2025, at about 2335hrs, while conducting a covert surveillance patrol along the Ughelli- Patani Road, operatives of the CP – Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) led by the commander ASP Robinson Julius, flagged down an approaching shuttle bus by Evwreni Junction, but said on sighting the operatives, the occupants of the said vehicle opened fire in a bid to escape, leading to an intense exchange of gun fire.



The police image maker disclosed that during the gun duel, Three (3) of the suspects sustained serious gunshot injuries while others escaped. The injured suspects according to him were taken to the hospital where they died while receiving treatment.
The following arms, one AK-47 rifle loaded with eighteen (18) rounds of live ammunition were recovered from them.
In a similar feat, the police also made another crack on May 24, 2025, at about 0845hrs acting on credible intelligence related to a syndicate who specialised in robbing unsuspecting victims of their motorcycles and other valuables within Asaba/Okpanam/Ibusa/Ogwashi-Uku and environs.
SP Edafe further disclosed that in a sting operation, the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) led by same ASP Julius Robinson trailed and arrested one Ifeanyi Okolie ‘m’ aka “BLACK JESUS” (38), a native of Nsukwa community in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State but resident at Okpanam area of Asaba. They said upon his interrogation, Ifeanyi led operatives to a bush opposite Okpanam City Gate, and three (3) Locally made guns and four (4) Live cartridges were recovered, alongside a suspected stolen Q-LINK motorcycle.
The operatives later arrested three other suspects connected to the case. They include one Ogochukwu Emmanuel ‘m’ (33) of Isu community in Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi state but resident at Okpanam area of Asaba, Joseph Egwu ‘m’ (42) of Ndibe community in Afikpo LGA of Ebonyi State but resident at Okwe area of Asaba, and one Yakubu Yusuf ‘m’ (28) of Audu Bako village in Nasarawa LGA of Kano State, but resident at Abraka Market Area of Asaba, identified as the receiver of the stolen items. The team also recovered a Beretta pistol loaded with five (5) rounds of live ammunition in the residence of one “NINO” in Ibusa, now at large. Investigation is ongoing.
According to the release, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, commended the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) for their exemplary professionalism and dedication in executing the recent operations. He remarked that these significant successes demonstrates the command’s resolute, commitment to dismantling criminal networks and enhancing the safety and security of all residents across Delta State.
