Wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Mrs. Tobore Oborevwori, has officially inaugurated the newly built Tobore Oborevwori Cottage Hospital Ughelli, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
This hospital said yo be a key project under the Jaro Egbo led administration is aimed at improving healthcare access residents.
Inaugurating the project, Deaconess Oborevwori, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Having this hospital named after me is a tremendous honor that I deeply appreciate. It warms my heart to see our collective efforts recognized and to witness such significant progress in Ughelli North which is my own local government of origin. She praised the council chairman Jaro Egbo, for making quality healthcare an attainable goal for the people, stressing that the project aligns with Governor Oborevwori “More Agenda” to do more for Delta State residents.
Deaconess Oborevwori highlighted recent healthcare achievements, noting, “Our Governor recently supplied eight dialysis machines across the state and successfully reduced dialysis treatment costs from N75,000 to N40,000.” She further disclosed that efforts are underway to renovate 150 primary healthcare centers across all 25 local government areas, bringing quality and affordable care closer to the people.
The wife of the Governor also commended ongoing infrastructure projects like the flyover as evidence of steady progress and urged everyone to support the Governor’s initiatives.
In his remarks, Ughelli North Local Government Council Chairman Jaro Egbo, described the new hospital as a landmark legacy for his administration. He emphasized, “This Cottage Hospital reflects our commitment to enhancing healthcare quality and accessibility for every resident in Ughelli North.
“The facility is equipped with modern healthcare infrastructure designed to meet the daily healthcare needs of the growing population. It will serve as a referral center coordinating with 35 other health centers in the area, ensuring a seamless and improved healthcare system within the local government.
The first lady also commissioned an ambulance donated by Olorogun Barr. Andrew Oru, to the Cottage hospital. The inauguration ceremony brought together notable sons and daughters of Ughelli Kingdom including the Ughelli monarch amongst others.
