Senator Ede Dafinone has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening unity among Urhobo people by hosting the March edition of his “Meet-and-Greet” gathering in Abuja.
The event brought together Urhobo sons and daughters from diverse professional backgrounds to foster collaboration and promote collective development within the Urhobo community.
Speaking during the engagement, the lawmaker representing Delta Central Senatorial District emphasised the importance of unity among the Urhobo people, noting that their shared heritage should serve as a foundation for cooperation and mutual support. He encouraged participants to interact freely, exchange ideas and build lasting professional relationships that would benefit the wider Urhobo nation.
Dafinone urged attendees to remain intentional about creating opportunities for fellow Urhobo people wherever they find themselves. According to him, extending a helping hand to one another would enable individuals within the community to grow, thrive and excel in their various professional and personal pursuits.
However, the super Senator stressed that collective progress can only be achieved when members of the community actively support one another, adding that unity must extend beyond words and translate into tangible actions that uplift others.
The event also featured a symbolic moment when one of the guests, Dr. Benjamin Irikefe, presented his book titled Handbook of Skill Acquisition Training and Empowerment Programmes to the senator. The gesture underscored the role of knowledge sharing and practical initiatives in empowering individuals and fostering sustainable development within the Urhobo community.
Senator Dafinone commended the effort behind the publication, noting that initiatives focused on skill acquisition and empowerment are vital for building resilient communities and creating opportunities for young people and professionals alike.
Participants described the gathering as more than just a networking event, highlighting its role as a platform for Urhobo professionals to connect, exchange ideas and strengthen the bonds that unite the Urhobo nation.
According to our correspondent, the regular meet-and-greet initiative continues to serve as a bridge for collaboration, reinforcing shared values and aspirations among Urhobo people across different fields.
