Hundreds of Oreorokpe residents headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area, and surrounding communities in the Delta Central Senatorial District, have received free medical outreach facilitated by Senator Ede Dafinone, the district’s representative at the senate.
The medical outreach is targeted at indigent and underserved populations, as well as treating beneficiaries for various ailments and issuing corrective eyeglasses to those that needed it. This initiative aims to ease healthcare cost burdens at the grassroots level.
Senator Dafinone, represented by his Okpe Local Government Liaison Officer, Mr. Yegbeburu, explained that the outreach brings quality healthcare closer to those facing financial or distance barriers. He revealed it forms part of a broader strategy covering four strategically selected towns in Delta Central for wider impact.
The senator highlighted his ongoing health interventions since taking office, including constructing, renovating, and equipping healthcare centers across communities. He stressed the focus on vulnerable groups excluded by rising costs and poor facility access.
Dafinone reaffirmed his dedication to people-oriented representation, pledging to deliver developmental projects and impactful programs.
“I remain committed to providing qualitative, result-oriented representation in the Red Chamber while ensuring democracy’s dividends reach our people,” he stated.
A team of healthcare professionals, led by Mr. Matthew Uruejoma, handled diagnosis, treatment, and medication distribution.
Key stakeholders, including Liaison Officer Mr. Yegbeburu, Medical Outreach Coordinator Mr. Henry Esiri, and Border Community Development Agency Supervisor Mr. Ovie Esievo, praised the timely and effective initiative. They said it would greatly improve beneficiaries’ health, many of whom had long lacked affordable care.
Overjoyed and grateful beneficiaries expressed relief from financial burdens and pledged ongoing support for Dafinone, citing his responsiveness and grassroots focus.
