Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has taken a bow as his two term tenure finally come to an end. Prof. Mahmood handed over the leadership of the electoral body to Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu on Tuesday, and will now serve as the acting national chairman of the commission. The Delta State Government has announced the postponement of the scheduled groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 12-kilometre Ugbolu–Okpanam Road in Oshimili North Local Government Area. In a statement issued on Tuesday morning, the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads and Public Information), Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said the postponement became necessary due to the torrential rain experienced in the area. Five teachers from Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta state, narrowly escaped death along the Ughelli-Asaba express way on Sunday, when the bus they were traveling in was involved in a fatal accident while returning from the world teachers day celebration at Asaba, the Delta state capital.
