Senator Ede Dafinone addressing APC supporters during the inauguration of the Sapele chapter of the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency (OSU) at the Sapele Local Government Council Secretariat, as party leaders and faithful rallied support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has assured of the All Progressives Congress (APC) overwhelming victories for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, in the 2027 general elections.
Dafinone made the declaration on Sunday while addressing thousands of party members and supporters at the Sapele Local Government Council Secretariat during the inauguration of the Sapele chapter of the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency (OSU).
He said the APC was not working towards narrow electoral wins but was focused on delivering massive votes that would further strengthen the political relevance of Sapele and the wider constituency. According to him, the performance of Sapele at the polls would significantly influence the level of attention and development the area would attract in the coming years.
The senator emphasised that sustained voter turnout and unity among party members were critical to securing the future of the constituency, urging supporters to demonstrate visible loyalty to both the federal and state governments. He noted that consistent support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori would ensure that the dividends of democracy reached communities at the grassroots.
Dafinone congratulated the newly inaugurated executives of the Sapele chapter of OSU, assuring them of the full support of his office and charging them to work assiduously towards ensuring clear APC victories across all wards in the area.
The inauguration ceremony drew a massive crowd from across Sapele, with the council secretariat and adjoining areas filled with party faithful, many clad in yellow and white, the party’s colours.
Speaking earlier, OSU Coordinator, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, said the OSU structure was formed on April 4, 2025, to mobilise support for what he described as a performing administration at both the federal and state levels. He explained that the organisation brought together members cutting across political and ethnic divides, united by confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori.
Also addressing the gathering, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Barrister Kingsley Esiso, said the central objective of OSU was to ensure the re-election of Governor Oborevwori in 2027. He urged the newly inaugurated executives to immediately commence grassroots mobilisation, including party registration and sustained voter engagement across communities in Sapele.
In his remarks, the Deputy Chairman of the APC in Delta State, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, described the large turnout as a clear indication of growing confidence in the party, adding that the APC was steadily consolidating its base ahead of the next general elections
