Former Commissioner in Delta state and major stakeholder in the state politics, Olorogun Hon. Barr. Fred Majemite, has called on Deltans and Delta Central people to support the developmental policies and laudable projects of President Ahmed Bola Tinubi and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
In a recent chat with journalists in Ughelli, Majemite who have also indicated interest to contest the Delta Central Senatorial seat, noted that the massive defection experienced in Delta state from the PDP to the APC was not just a political camouflage but sincerely following a progressive trend of the renewed hope of President Tinubu for Nigeria and Deltans.
He said, so far, President Bola Tinubu, has proven to Nigerians his commitment and preparedness to deliver the country from the hands of the few that has made millions of Nigerians suffered untold hardships, insecurity, food security and others. Majemite, noted that the decision to join hand with him was to see how Delta state will move in the same direction with the Presidency at the national level. He praised the Delta state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his wisdom, courage and sincerity to the even development of Delta state.
“There is no one in Delta State that has not fallen in love with the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
“He has proven book makers wrong with his excellent visions and dreams. He did promised Deltans MORE in his manifesto or agendas, and the result of the MORE agenda is what you see on ground today. So, I give kudos to him for his dexterity, ingenuity, focus and I will continue to canvass supports for him and the President who is also a progressive President. How
Continuing, Olorogun Majemite maintained that the visions and dreams of Governor Oborevwori are in tandem with the development policies of Mr. President, adding that the movement of key political stakeholders in Delta state from the PDP to the ruling APC, was never just a camouflage or jamboree, but a directional movement into a progressive party.”
On his aspiration to contest the 2027 senatorial election, hear what he said;
“Well, I felt its time for me to serve my people and give back to the society what God has blessed us with.
“As you know, I am not also getting younger, but I am still praying about it for God to lead the way and confirm it.
Asked if he is worried about the aspirations of others contesting the Senatorial District in 2027, Olorogun Fred Majemite said, “Well I do not know of any automatic ticket arrangement except that of the Governor of the state here at the state level. He is the leader of the party, and once he has indicated his interests, automatically he has no opposition. Then I also read recently about the declaration of the National Publicity Secretary of the APC Mouka, saying the same time that there will be no automatic ticket for any legislative positions. So to me it should be opened for contestants to go to the field to test their popularity, and I do know the party leaders will do what is right.”
While thanking all political stakeholders in the state, Olorogun Fred Majemite, urged them to be united and lend their supports on Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda in order to drive the state to success.
He also called on all Deltans to support the developmental policies of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, stating that their visions and dreams are in line with the progress of Delta state and Nigeria as a whole, stressing the need for unity among political stakeholders in the state and encouraged open competition for elective positions in order to allow the people choose their representatives.
